Het Zuid Manifest: I Love Carlos begint bijna! Dit kunstfestival verandert Charlois in een levendige tentoonstelling, en dat vieren we graag met jou, de kunstenaars en partners die het mogelijk hebben gemaak. Op vrijdag organiseert Rib een groot openingsfeest in Subway Pool Café —met muziek, live optredens en dansen de hele avond door. Toegang is gratis.



Subway Pool Café, met zijn pooltafels, dartborden en dromerige sfeer, is het decor voor drie absurde en interactieve live performances. De avond wordt gehost door Simone Schuffelen, AKA The Schuffel. Ze neemt ons mee in een opzwepende muzikale reis met ambient beats en meezingers.



Later op de avond brengt Zorro Fork ons in een surrealistische staat met een muzikaal optreden dat bestaat uit het coveren van bestaande covers van verschillende auteurs. Covers van Gilda, Ney Matogrosso, Scott Walker en Gardel komen voorbij, net als flarden van anderen. De act wordt ondersteund met maskers en een diapresentatie met informatie over de oorsprong en het verloop van de nummers. Als publiek mag je meedoen.



Daarna betreedt NDNMK Solutions het podium: “een door kunstenaars gerund bedrijf dat zich specialiseert in ideologiebeheer en consultancy rondom witheid”. Hen creërt denkbeelden met muziek en geluid die leiden tot reflectie, verwarring, afdwaling en mogelijk opstijging. De nacht eindigt daar niet — The Schuffel keert terug voor een laatste DJ-set.



Het feest is van 19:00 uur tot laat.

Het Zuid Manifest: I Love Carlos is almost here! This art festival will soon turn Charlois into a living exhibition, and we would love to celebrate this with you, the artists and partners who made it happen. On Friday, Rib is throwing a big opening party at Subway Pool Café —with music, live performances, and dancing. Entry is free.

Subway Pool Café, with its pool tables, dart boards, and dreamy atmosphere, will be the backdrop of three absurd and interactive live performances. Hosting the evening is none other than Simone Schuffelen, AKA The Schuffel, who will guide us on a hyped musical journey with ambient beats and sing-alongs.

Later in the evening, Zorro Fork will take us on a surreal trip with a masked musical performance that involves the covering of existing covers by different authors. For example Gilda, Ney Matogrosso, Scott Walker and Gardel, as well as shreds of some others. The act is supported by masks and a slideshow presentation with information about the origins and paths of the tracks. The audience can parttake in different ways, if they wish.

Then NDNMK Solutions will take the stage: “an artist-run company that specialises in ideology management and whiteness-related consultancy”. They provide sound-focused mind castles that serve as spaces of reflection, confusion, digression, and possibly ascension. The night doesn’t end there—The Schuffel will return for a final DJ set.
