We would like to invite you to a reading by artist and writer Céline Mathieu (b. 1989, BE), performed during the exhibition opening of The Last Terminal, Volume III, Part 3: The Recipient at Rib, on Saturday 21 September.

Céline will read her recent Fenders. A fender is the long pillow-like stretched breast that you hang out of a boat to protect it from crashing or bumping into rocks or other solids. Padding, for a boat. Written in or on the Oslo Fjörd, Mathieu transports us back, awash, using mostly poetic prose.

Céline Mathieu’s site and condition-specific practice considers material and economic circulation in work that evokes a feeling of falling away. The work is both sensory and conceptual. In her installations she combines sound, scent, different materials, performance and text.
